How Do You Get Started Correcting Your Leg Length Inequality?

Contact groover clinic by telephone at 303-442-7772, e-mail info@grooverclinic.com, or stop by the clinic in person (Groover Clinic, 2725 Iris Ave., Boulder, CO 80304) to inquire about correcting your physiological short leg. Some general, questions may be answered during the time of your initial contact, and you may schedule an introductory consultation with Dr. Groover at Groover Clinic or speak with him over the telephone.

Your consultation with Dr. Groover

Your consultation will review and clarify your goals and objectives, your symptoms, social and medical history, and the recent health of all your systems. Specific attention is payed to previous accidents and injuries which may have caused your physiological short leg, and other factors which may complicate your leg length corrective process.

Your initial consultation includes examinations to determine if your have a physiological short leg, the extent of its shortness and the effect the short leg is having on the functioning of your body. Your legs will be measured while you are lying on your back, and may be measured while your are face down. Measurements are taken of the distribution of your weight between the right and left sides of your body, the orientation of your pelvis to the horizon, the center of your pelvis and center of your upper back relationships to your center of gravity, and the mechanical functioning of your pelvis. If you receive your consultation over the phone, you will benefit from having a partner present to help perform some of these tests at home.

You will receive Dr. Groover’s report of findings including his assessment of the nature and cause of your physiological short leg, it’s effect upon your body's function, the procedures you will require for correcting it, and procedures you will require for keeping your leg lengths even.

Your New Patient Detailed Evaluation

Your initial evaluation for correcting your physiological short leg begins with performance of a thorough case history and detailed examinations. Your examinations include inspection of your posture and general appearance, palpation (examination by touch) of your spinal joints and soft tissues, observing your spinal range of motion, neurological evaluation of your spinal nerve roots by checking sensation, muscle strength, and deep tendon reflexes, and orthopedic testing. Patients who have already received their initial consultation over the telephone will have their leg length assessments performed during this initial evaluation.

Specific X-ray examinations of your neck, upper cervical spine and your entire spine are performed, analyzed and radiographic reports are written. Diagnosis, prognosis, and care plan are created, and all your history and findings are documented.

Your Physiological Short Leg Is Corrected.

Your first treatment includes correction of your physiological short leg, leveling your pelvis, centering your pelvis and back upon your center of gravity, and balancing the distribution of weight between the right and left sides of your body.

The content, frequency and number of subsequent treatment visits depends upon your goals and objectives and the condition of your body.

Groover Clinic’s goal is to keep your leg lengths even for the longest time with the fewest number of treatment visits possible. If you are one of our least complicated patients, you may need one or 2 treatment visits per week for a few weeks before your leg lengths stabilize. Maintaining your even leg lengths will require as few as 4 maintenance visits per year, which will include examination of your leg lengths, and if required, correction of your physiological short leg.

Keeping your leg lengths even could be complicated by abnormalities in your spine, pelvis, muscles, posture, gastrointestinal function and brain function.

You Could Save Valuable Time, Money and Discomfort Resolving Your Sports Injuries with Groover Clinic’s Holistic Sports Injury Treatment Program.

Sports injuries make you uncomfortable in the saddle, steal your power, and take you off the road. Injuries often consume your time and money for treatment, and bear the risk for prolonged and incomplete recoveries, expensive surgeries, and harmful medication and surgery side effects. Due to these dismal prospects you may have choosen to endure your aches and pains rather than even try to relieve them.

The primary diagnosis for many sports injuries are muscle strain (torn muscle fibers) or tendon sprain (torn tendon fibers) and tendonitis (inflammation of the tendon). Treatments for these problems are often superficial and fall short, because your actual injury exists at a deeper level.

Groover Clinic provides you accurate diagnosis and effective treatment for soft tissue and joint injuries, saving you from expensive, unnecessary, prolonged, and invasive treatments.

Your Groover Clinic’s Holistic Sports Injury Treatment Program evaluates specific joint and soft tissue problems with a complete history and inspection, palpation, range of motion, neurological, and orthopedic testing, X-ray examination, X-ray analysis and X-ray report, diagnosis, prognosis, care plan, correction, rehabilitation and documentation.

Your will receive careful identification and treatment for all factors contributing and complicating your injuries. Our procedures are natural, holistic and successful. Most patient’s enjoy immediate relief from their injuries and their follow-up is often fairly brief.
