You know how sometimes you first hear about something and it doesn’t really get your attention. Then you hear about it again and you become curious. The next time you hear about it you might look in to it a little bit. Then the actual thing shows up right in your face, and you have to choose between chasing it away or taking it face on.
This is what happened to me recently in my little country of the healthcare world, in the little state of holistic chiropractic, in the county of upper cervical chiropractic, in the town of scientifically verifiable upper cervical spinal corrective care. Those of you who know me personally or through my writing know I like to hang out in this remote little town, and some of you think I am from another planet or another universe entirely.
Upper cervical spinal corrective care involves correcting the alignment of the joint relationships between the base of your head (occiput), the first bone of your neck (C1 or Atlas Vertebra), the second bone in your neck (C2 or Axis Vertebra). Anyway, other than the patients I see in my practice and my professional associates, I receive very few outside visitors to my upper cervical spinal care realm.
Well, I had a new visitor called Atlas Profilax, which is supposed to be an upper cervical spinal corrective procedure which only has to be performed once and lasts a lifetime. One of my previous patients was known to receive such a procedure a year or so ago, and dismissed this event as a rare occurrence. Then I had a new patient tell me she had this work done on her, and her Atlas was aligned. I examined her using specific upper cervical physical examination procedures, X-rays and X-ray analysis, and diagnosed her with upper cervical spinal misalignment.
Next, a man called me to see what I knew about this procedure and inquire about the work I do with the upper cervical spine. He agreed to be examined before and after receiving Atlas Profilax, and the outcome of this experiment revealed some disturbing facts about this procedure I think you should know about. Read More.
